IMPROVED Layer Management – The Design Director simplifies layer management with the addition of Line Style, Pen Width and Print Style parameters to Design Director and Drawing Setup.
NEW Layer Filters - Layer filters, that are .dwg compatible, help you manage large, complex drawings with ease. Simply organise layers by a defined set of parameters. All layers which meet the parameters define by the filter will be grouped in the lower panel of the Design Director.
NEW Section Detail Tool - Enables closed 2D entities (circles, polygons, polylines) to act as a cutting contour with other intersecting 2D objects.

New House Wizard
This big, time-saving tool creates a preliminary room-by-room design of a home.
New Dynamic Dimensions for Doors and Windows. Now dimensions display as doors and windows are inserted, showing the distance to and from the wall ends for easier, more precise placement. Plus, corresponding offset fields have been added to the Inspector Bar.
New Ray tool
Create rays on the construction line layer to more clearly define your construction geometry. Construction lines are also now editable, and can be edited into rays.
New Lightworks 8.3 engine
TurboCAD’s powerful rending engine now provides progressive, ray-traced rendering, improving workflow by generating fast estimates of the image and an early preview of light settings. Lightworks 8.3 also supports multi-threading, taking advantage of multi core processors so the turn around time for calculations is much faster. Anti-aliasing for geometry & materials is also improved.
New Window or Crossing Selection
Users can now select objects with a mouse by using the Window or Crossing methods similar to AutoCAD. Drag the mouse from left to right to invoke Window mode and select only objects that are entirely within the blue window. Drag the mouse from right to left to invoke Crossing mode and select only objects that touch the green Crossing window.
Enhanced Layers
TurboCAD 18 layers are more AutoCAD compatible, including a new layers dialog based upon 'Design Center'. Users also now have the ability to turn on/off Layers per Viewport.
Improved Fillet (2D) tool
The updated 2D Fillet tool can re-fillet neighboring line segments, creating a new arc segment, tangent to those line segments. It works with polyline with arc segments too.
Additional Enhancements
TurboCAD 18 provides smarter, faster drafting and detail with these additional improvements:
§ New Copy in Place tool works on all 2D and 3D objects.
§ Improved Mirror tool can mirror a block & retain text orientation.
§ Improved Measurement in TurboCAD now shows a measurement history (previous distance, area, etc.).
§ Improved Text now uses the Enter key to wrap text to the next line. Users can also pick a position on screen to start a new line.
§ Improved Stretch Tool updates offer greater control with improved Rubber-banding of objects and improved visualization for more precise control of stretched objects.
§ Improved Trim Tool now works with multilines for enhanced productivity
New AutoCAD 2011 .DWG/.DXF Compatibility
Filter enhancements offer improved file sharing with AutoCAD 2010 and 2011.
New Support for Google SketchUp v8
Updates to TurboCAD’s .SKP filter allows users to now read/write Google SketchUp files up to version 8.
